Kuyucuk is located 37 kms away from the Kars city center. It takes approximately 20-25 minutes by car from the city center. Going north on Kars-Ardahan road, at almost 14th km, there is the "Göle, Susuz, Arpaçay, Akyaka" junction. Take a right at the junction following the "Arpaçay-Akyaka" signboard; then approximately 9 kms ahead, there is the "Akyaka" junction. Take a right again, and after 15 kms, Kuyucuk village and Kuyucuk lake lie on the right hand side

The village is visible, but still 1 km away from the road. To reach the lake, take the road into the village. On the village road, after leaving the "Kuyucuk" signboard 500 meters behind, on the left there is a side road that curves left, going to the lake.

Using public transport, take the Akyaka minibus at the "Old Garage" region of the Kars city center. The Akyaka minibus goes past Kuyucuk every hour from 11:00 am to 17:00 pm.
